    Choice and Change

OK, so here we are. We’ve switched the calendars out and made our resolutions. Now it’s time to set about the process of making those changes we’ve resolved to make. You haven’t forgotten already have you?

I heard you say this year I’m going to… stop smoking, exercise more, take a few night classes, start saving for retirement, eat healthier, cut my alcohol intake by 50%, get more rest and on and on and on. Choices to change. I applaud you for living consciously enough to even realize that some changes might be good.

Unfortunately there are those who don’t dare think that on any given day, we can in any way we choose change anything or everything about ourselves and thus our lives. Fifteen Healthy Reasons for Taking a Vacation

Going away on a vacation brings numerous benefits. Smokers love excuses. Nothing makes them happier than, ‘I can’t quit because’. They really believe their own excuses.

But all these excuses are cop-outs. There’s no reason to smoke. Smoking doesn’t have any redeeming benefits. It’s 100% harmful, poison.

But many smokers don’t want to hear that. In fact, they already know it’s poison. They just haven’t yet discovered how to quit. Reading the truth, in a non-aggressive, non- threatening way, helps to get started on the quit smoking path.

    A weight loss strategy

I just finished working my quads on a weight machine. My head races and my body hums all in an attempt to lose weight. Only moments ago, my legs worked so hard that they began to fail. They worked so hard that my muscle tissue cried out in pain and began to tear. Now having just finished, my body sweating with the effort, I can rest for a couple of minutes before doing it again.
